Below you will find more information on each program that we are currently offering. Most of our programs can be done in-person, virtually (online), or a combination of both (hybrid).  

Kempo Karate

Adults Program

Valley Shore Martial Arts believes that developing and maintaining a sound body and mind are critical to getting the most out of life.

Students will study the Kempo Karate system while learning how to avoid dangerous situations. In this class, the instructors will offer realistic scenarios and drills, allowing students to prepare if a dangerous situation cannot be diffused. Most adults notice improvements in weight reduction as well as improved toning and strengthening of muscles. This class challenges both the body and mind to increase energy, stamina, and fitness level which in turn will contribute to a longer and happier life and a true sense of well-being.


Youth Karate Program

This program has been specifically designed for children 7 – 13 years of age. The Youth curriculum introduces more substantial martial art skills along with the concepts of focus, teamwork, and discipline. The purpose of this program is to help the student develop as well as get them ready for the Teen Program. The Youth Program offers daily lessons starting at age 7. These lessons develop self-esteem, confidence, and self-control. The class will also teach discipline, help channel aggressive energy while developing lifelong self-defense skills. The classes are exciting and will also encourage positive work ethics and academic values. The environment, though demanding, is one of achievement through individual growth. By focusing and trying hard, our students realize that they can be highly successful in Martial Arts and also in everyday life.


Little Dragon’s Program

The Little Dragons program has been specifically designed for children 4 – 6 years of age with less focus on techniques and a greater focus on cognitive and social skills.  Our instructor has extensive experience with children and the class is designed to be fun and kid-friendly. Our students will learn the building blocks of Kempo Karate as well as gaining physical and mental benefits. Students will practice both social and emotional skills. The in-class drills improve fine and gross motor skills, balance, and coordination. Discipline and respect for both themselves and others will also be practiced during each class. This class is 30 minutes and runs 2 times per week. This class prepares most children for Youth Karate Classes.


Krav Maga


Krav Maga is a realistic self-defense program that anyone can use, regardless of size, strength, or fitness. Krav Maga emphasizes simple and practical techniques, real-life scenarios, and intense training.


Krav Maga is a practical and realistic self-defense system that teaches how to prevent, deal with and overcome all kinds of violence & attacks. Krav Maga prepares the trainees in the subjects of self-defense, self-protection, fighting, and combat skills, as well as skills to defend others, all in a unique and comprehensive teaching method.


 Krav Maga was developed in Israel, under realistic demands and conditions for the battlefield. Founded and formed by Imi Lichtenfeld (Sde-Or) and continues to advance and be modified by the top instructors of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).


Krav Maga has a unique and logical approach. It is easy to learn and retain, performed naturally and intuitively, and practically be used under stressful conditions. An essential part of Krav Maga is its teaching process, methodology, and ways of training. Proud members of the Krav Maga Association (KMA). The Krav Maga Association has been training under the Chief Commanders and Head Instructors of the Israeli Defense Forces for years. The Chief Commander of the IDF for Krav Maga is in charge of ALL hand-to-hand combat taught within the entire Israeli Military, including the elite forces and Israeli Police.


In a world that is saturated with Krav Maga instructors, the KMA instructor team stands apart. Our years of experience in Krav Maga and our experience training with the Commanders and Head Instructors of the IDF are second to none. Very few Krav Maga instructors today can claim that they are trained by the same instructors who certify the Krav Maga trainers in the Israel Military.




Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: 

A martial art system that is predominantly ground based. It focuses on the principles of leverage, angles, pressure and timing. To achieve a non-violent submission of one’s opponent. Utilizing chokes and joint-manipulations. This system is used for both Self Defense and Sport.

Our goal is to share the art of Jiu-jitsu with open doors to all practitioners from all over with no judgment or bias.  We want to share our knowledge and passion for the art in a positive and inviting environment.

Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program:

Our Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program offers one of the most comprehensive and dynamic self-defense styles in the world. Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program:

Our Youth Jiu-Jitsu program provides a unique and fun opportunity for kids to learn martial arts while building important life skills. TRX Class

 TRX is a one-hour full-body strength workout that utilizes a person’s own body weight.  Instead of relying on machines or dumbbells, a TRX is used.  This also helps with balance. You will be using your core for the entire class.  In addition to strength training, you will also get a cardiovascular workout.  The class is highly customizable to everyone attending the class.  Students can work at a pace that is appropriate for their individual fitness levels.
